Cool sunny morning

It's been a while since I last posted anything here. It's just that I'd like June to be over soon. I keep thinking of going to the US, not for the sake of travelling only, but for the change of pace, a brief escape from the pressure of class preparation and grading. And I'm all expectation, wanting to see my sister, niece and nephews, my other sisters there too! A time to be with Imani, whose struggle is at a painful high at the moment with Judi in hospital, and Marc and Pam, who have fortunately overcome theirs.

If life is but a whiff, then each moment I can share a smile with people around me becomes a blessing, a celebration of being fine and alive and energetic. In no time the world can be turned upside down, and then one wonders why the good times seemed so elusive and ephemeral. They don't have to be, if we can seize them one by one, little by little - the simple awareness of being surrounded by people we love. This late fall morning has cast a certain spell... cool and sunny - just perfect. I thank you, God.
