Seize the day

Life is short - heard it so many times as I grew up. Yet what does it exactly mean? Why should it be so? Here and there I get a glimpse into its meaning. As I just heard of a dear colleague diagnosed with cancer, and of a dear friend's Dad passing away, I think of life as a whiff of air, and our significance no more than a speck of dust in the universe. If today we are healthy and can turn around and say 'I love you' to someone -and fortunately there's always a bunch of people we can use that phrase with-, we can consider ourselves blessed, and should celebrate that very moment. And when something goes wrong, it is that love that's given and returned that would make any burden bearable, and life meaningful. The inner vacuum can thus be diverted, extinguished...

Therefore, today I'm blessed and thank some Higher Power for that. Today I pray for CG's recovery, and hope this will soon be a dark chapter of her life that's overcome and forgotten. Today I think of Nan and hope she will soon reach the acceptance of letting go. Today I say I love all creatures that surround me.

That's you! My reader, my friend, my family, my support. I breathe in as much fresh air as my chest can absorb, and slowly release energy for peace and quiet just for this moment in which the universe is cuddling me.

I love you. And remain happy at the thought of your face, of your aura, and your care...
